Who We Are
International Shipping is an independent educational platform built for Indian exporters, cross-border e-commerce sellers, MSMEs, artisans, and small businesses navigating the complex world of international courier shipping and customs compliance without professional customs support.
This platform is not affiliated with any government body, customs authority, or courier company. It draws on publicly available CBIC regulations, ICEGATE guidelines, DGFT circulars, and courier frameworks to explain — in plain language — how international courier customs works, why shipments get stuck, and what exporters can do about it.
"Every guide, every answer, every step-by-step process on this platform exists to help Indian businesses ship to the world with confidence."
Why This Platform Exists
India is one of the world's fastest-growing cross-border e-commerce markets. The April 2026 courier reforms — including the removal of the Rs. 10 lakh value cap, the introduction of the Return to Origin mechanism, and the simplified re-import framework — have opened the courier channel to millions of Indian exporters who were previously constrained by value limits or complex return procedures.
Yet most Indian exporters, particularly MSMEs, first-time exporters, artisan cooperatives, and D2C sellers, have limited practical knowledge of what happens after a shipment leaves their hands. They do not know the difference between CSB-IV and CSB-V. They do not know their LUT must be renewed every year. They have never heard of an Authorised Courier — and a single digit error in an HS code on ICEGATE can hold up a shipment worth lakhs of rupees.
When something goes wrong, most exporters waste days in unproductive courier helpdesk queues without knowing what to ask or what document to provide. The result is storage charges, frustrated buyers, damaged relationships, and delayed payments. This platform was built to eliminate that gap.
How we are different
Most logistics content is written for freight forwarders or large enterprises. Everything on this platform is written specifically for Indian exporters using courier mode — what the rule means for you, what mistake to avoid, and what to do when something goes wrong.
A Platform Shaped by the 2026 Reform Moment
What This Website Covers
This platform covers the complete journey of an international courier export from the perspective of an Indian exporter — from the moment goods are handed to the courier through to delivery at the buyer's address overseas.
Our Commitment to Accuracy
Every piece of content is based on publicly available sources including CBIC regulations, ICEGATE guidelines, DGFT circulars, customs tariff schedules, and courier operator documentation. Content is updated when regulations change — as they did significantly in April 2026 — and we clearly flag when information may be subject to change or interpretation.
We do not file customs declarations, give legal advice, or represent any government authority or courier company. All practical decisions regarding export compliance, HS code selection, duty payments, and permit applications must be made in consultation with a licensed Customs House Agent, the relevant customs authority, or DGFT as appropriate.
Our content principles
Plain language, Indian exporter perspective, practical action steps, sourced from CBIC circulars, and always flagged when something is interpretation rather than settled rule.
